Overview
This position will take design responsibility for the systems designs of new and present equipment. You have a clear and strong mandate to optimize the performance and cost of new equipment. You will work together with colleagues in a small but very competent engineering team with a long experience of pressure vessels. You will work with both Hydraulic and Mechanical Engineering. This is a unique opportunity to work with ultra-high water pressure techniques.
Responsibilities
In this role you will:
Perform hydraulics analyses and develop state of the art hydraulic solutions to support development and the engineering team
Hydraulic design work with 2D or 3D modeling tools.
Perform system performance evaluations based on motor and pump performance.
Ensure that new designs are safe, cost effective, reliable and easy to service.
Selection of components and assemblies properly to meet national and international standards and requirements.
Develop new and improve present pressure vessel designs and make sure that new ideas are evaluated carefully.
Advanced mechanical design work with 3D modeling tools.
Ensure that our pressure vessels fulfill ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel, Section VIII, Division 3 requirements.
Ensure that our pressure vessels fulfill European Pressure Equipment Directives (PED).
Document work procedures and ensure high quality through the engineering process.
Support the organization when engineering related questions arise.
Resolve problems; identifying trends; determining system improvements.
To liaise with subcontractors and outside specialists when needed.
Participate in customers' meetings to improve their processes and usage of their equipment
Qualifications
This position requires a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
3
years' experience in Mechanical Engineering and 2D and 3D modeling in Solid Works or similar.
5
years' experience of performing hydraulics, pneumatics and water systems design work and schematics preferred.
Familiar with the ASME B&PV Code, European Pressure Equipment and Machinery Directive preferred.
Knowledge of Product Data Management systems.
Strong analytical and documentation skills required.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multi task, work in a fast paced environment and have time management skills. Must have the ability to be proactive and drive change.
Be able to act as the company specialist regarding hydraulics, pneumatics and water systems designs and standards.
Up to 10% travel including international.
